This is lovely, Miriam. I kept wondering what a whiskey porch actually is...:-) And now I'm learning something new about an America that I do not know. Beauty in architecture and the way it contributes to our wellbeing (or the opposite!) is soo important. You're on to something here!

Thank you so much, dear Andrea! I love that you were curious about what a Whiskey Porch actually is - that makes me smile. And yes, I couldn’t agree more: the spaces we inhabit have such a profound impact on our sense of place and wellbeing. It’s never really about the square footage, is it? It’s about how a space is designed to feel and function—and for me, the beauty woven into it matters deeply.

I’ll be sharing Part 2 later this week, diving into the idea of Porchology. I can’t wait for you to read it!

"...the front porch isn’t just a design feature. It’s a philosophy: a way of being in the world that balances shelter and openness, solitude and community, simplicity and beauty." This line really encapsulates my feelings about not only porches but also bungalows. Thank you for sharing
