Yayyy. They’re a little hard to find in typical retail. I special ordered my starts. And remember it may take a year or two to really produce. Have fun!!

I wish I could grow them, but I live in an apartment without a balcony or patio. I think I saw them in the farmers market here in the past. I hope that is not just wishful thinking.😉

Hi Miriam. Thank you for your post. There are many flavors I miss from the UK and now I have space I’m doing something about it. I’m growing scarlet runners, long beans that we shred into long thin slices. My mother and I would get a heap of beans and sit shredding before she would Blanche and freeze them so we could have beans at Christmas. I’m also growing marrows. They’re basically large zucchini’s. We like to stuff them with bolognese sauce and cover with cheese sauce before baking. I can’t wait for my first harvest!

I’m a Swede by heritage but have never visited. Thank you for the Alpine strawberry hanging basket idea! Did you start them from seed?

Hi Carrie! No. I special ordered them as starts. I can lookup where that was when I’m back home and post a link here for you.
