Nothing on this porch is AI-generated. Some of my process is lightly AI-assisted - in structure, editing, or working through concepts. Here's exactly where that line sits:

How I Work With AI

Everything on The Whiskey Porch starts and ends with me - my hands, my eye, my heart, my thirty-some years of studying and learning the craft of design and how a room or a garden actually works.

AI is a tool I use to move faster and think clearer. It doesn’t choose what matters here. I do.

Strategy First, Tools Second

Every letter, framework, idea and opinion starts with what I’ve lived and learned at Juniper Hill Cottage and during this lifetime of experiences - not with a prompt.

I use AI to speed up the parts that used to eat my week and run me ragged: organizing, structuring, editing. And editing again. And just a little bit more because I care too much about everything I do. AI doesn’t shortcut the thinking.

Drafting, Outlining & Editing

Each letter I write takes many, many hours to conceive, outline and draft.

I use AI to help shape structure, test the outline, and sharpen that early draft. But the voice, the stories, the specific detail of what actually happened on this porch - that’s mine.

I’m a perfectionist - AI helps me get out of my own way faster. It doesn’t choose the words.

Inspiration & Ideation

AI is a good sparring partner. I use it to test an idea, poke holes in my own thinking, or find an angle I hadn’t considered - the way I’d talk something through with a smart friend or an editor before I sit down to write.

Visuals

Every photo, video and graphic you see here is mine. I don’t use AI-generated images - ever. If a photo looks like this cottage, this garden, or this porch, it’s because it is.

Purchased stock I’ve used maybe a handful of times in the whole life of this publication and my local design business.

Your Data

I don’t feed reader information into AI tools, and I don’t use anything you’ve shared with me - comments, replies, emails - to train any model. Or for any other reason than to communicate directly with you.

For the Record

One more disclosure while we're at it: I'm opinionated, I do things myself because I can't stand watching them done wrong, and I run this whole porch with no filter. That’s all me - no assist required.
